Members of a political organization named the Liberal Office prepared and sent an “e-response” to the headquarters of the General Staff. Alper Akalin read the contents of their e-mail on behalf of the group.

Akalin said that: “The bad habit of an intervention every 10 years unfortunately has not been changed. All we needed was an e-memorandum, now we have one. We condemn all these kinds of interventions, both past and present.”

The e-mail to the General Staff also claimed that “Turkey’s image in the international arena was wounded badly. In addition, memorandums hurt the nation, not only the government. Turkey’s people pay a high price in the end.”

Akalin also commented on Turkey’s $7-billion economic loss after the military’s statement was posted. “The good news is that the Izmir port has been privatized at a prize of $1.2 billion, but just a simple Web announcement of the Armed Forces costs the nation $7 billion in a week.”

In their letter, the Liberal Office members have asked the responsible parties for the e-memorandum to be brought to justice. “Otherwise, merely wishing that this never happens again is useless,” the group said.

Liberalofis adlı bir politik organizasyon, TSK yetkililerinin hazırlamış olduğu e-muhtıranın birinci haftasında, muhtıraya cevaben gönderilmek üzere bir e-cevap hazırladı.

Grup adına Alper Akalın şöyle dedi; “ 10 yılda bir darbe yapma alışkanlığı ne yazık kı değişmedi. Bir e-muhtıramız eksikti, o da oldu. Geçmiştekiler de dahil olmak üzere, bu tarz müdahelelrin hepsini kınıyoruz.”

Gönderilen emailde şu ifadelere yer verildi; “ Son gelişmeler, ülkemizin uluslararası arenadaki imajını kötü yönde etkilemiştir. Aynı zamanda, bu tarz müdaheleler, sadece hükümeti değil, halkı da cezalandırmakta ve bizleri oldukça incitmektedir. “ 

 
Alper Akalın, vermiş olduğu beyanata şunları da ekledi: “ İzmir Limanının özelleştirmesinden elde edilen 1.2 milyar dolar gibi yüksek bir rakama sevinirken, sadece e- muhtıranın bu ülke ekonomisine olan zararının 7 milyar dolar olduğunu gözlerden kaçırmamalıyız”

Verilen e-cevabın sonunda, Liberal Ofis üyeleri, bu muhtırayı verilenlerin adalet önünde hesap vermesi gerektiğini aksi takdirde bu tarz müdahelelerin bir daha olmamasını dilemenin anlamsız kalacağını belirttiler.
